Situated in the Southside Historic District overlooking beautiful
Lake Michigan, The Hughes House Bed and Breakfast is
a delight to come back to after a long day of beaching,
sightseeing or shopping the art district just a short
walk in beautiful downtown Racine . The Bed and Breakfast
is kitty corner from the Main St. Frank Lloyd Wright
house, a popular tourist attraction. We are also just
a short walk to the Frank Lloyd Wright Johnson Wax building.
The Southside Historic District is nationally recognized
for its diverse collection of historic American architecture.
A walk along Main St. is truly a sight to see.
The
Hughes House, built circa 1896, is a 5000 square foot
federal revival home that still exhibits the simple
Arts and Crafts style of architecture typical of the
period. The home was recently featured in From House
to Home magazine as well as in the Entrée section of
the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The view of the lake
from The Hughes House is beautiful as you sip your favorite
beverage as the morning sun bursts over the lake on
our spacious front veranda. Comfortable and spacious
front parlor rooms overlook the lake as well and guests
are welcome to make themselves at home during their
stay.
When not in service, guests of the Hughes House are
invited to take an afternoon nap in one of two staterooms
each equipped with their own full bathroom.
